Monetization and Affiliate Marketing (Meeting Recap)

Yesterday Cincinnati Women Bloggers hosted it’s monthly meeting at Bridge Worldwide downtown.  This month the topic was monetization and affiliate marketing and our presenter was Andrea of Mommy Snacks.

Andrea writes a frugal blog, that shares savings tips, coupons, etc. for a wide variety of stores. She’s been dabbling with affiliate marketing  for just over a year and shared her insights on the various programs, the terminology and more.

Among the things we learned:

  • There are a lot of sites out there offering a WIDE array of affiliate marketing opportunities. Andrea has a list on her blog, HERE.
  • If you look at the requirements for a particular affiliate marketing group and don’t quite make the cut, contact them directly. You may end up getting in if you are close.
  • Always remember to stay true to the voice of your blog!
  • Mom Bloggers Club has a great post on selling ads on your blog
  • There is a service called Swag Bucks that pays you to do searches!

Stay tuned, If you missed the meeting, never fear. We taped the entire session and will be posting it soon!

Thank you to everyone who attended and to Bridge Worldwide for sponsoring the event.  Stay tuned for details on next month’s meet up!
