Last but not least, we’d like to thank and recognize Amy Cribbs (AmyinOhio) and Susan Jackson (Mr. & Mrs. Get Fit/Working Moms Against Guilt) for their efforts in organizing this event. Without them it would have been a pretzels and beer kind of gathering. If you see them on the streets (i.e. Twitter) and had a good time at the event, please make sure and let them know!

Again, thank you to everyone who came out to support our first event. We hope you had as much fun as we did. We’re definitely looking forward to doing this again!!

If you missed the event, check out these two blogs: Bob at 5chw4r7z  or Krista at Kribaby for photos from that night!

The Results Are In……..

782736_vote_2Well we asked for your help in selecting the charity recipient for our big holiday social on December 15th and boy did you come out of the woodwork!  More than 1,700 votes were cast for three great organizations — Women Helping Women, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Northern Kentucky and the FreestoreFoodbank.

While all three of the charities do amazing work in our community, only one could be the winner. Drum roll please…….

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Northern Kentucky

Here’s how the votes were cast:

Women Helping Women 39% (669 votes)

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Northern Kentucky 53% (917 votes)

Freestore Foodbank 8% (145 votes)

Here’s a little information on our winner:

  • IHN NKY is the only agency in Northern Kentucky providing shelter to two-parent families and single parents with children under 18 while keeping the entire family together.
  • They serve an average of 40 families per year, including 80 children – most of whom are under the age of 10.
  • They are supported by 9 Host Churches and 34 Support Churches providing shelter, 3 meals per day, and transportation to homeless children and their families.

Thank you to everyone who voted, all of you who are helping promote our first big event and to all of you that are planning to attend the CWB Holiday Social. We have a great opportunity ahead of us to have a lot of fun and to raise both awareness and funds for a great organization!

PS. More details on the CWB Holiday Social to come. We’ve been working with lots of companies to secure some great raffle items.  You’re going to have the chance to win some awesome prizes, just in time for the Holidays!
